ABOUT ELIZABETH

For over 28 years, I have called Riverside County my home. I raised two wonderful children in this community. My son is now a Sophomore at UC Berkeley and my daughter will graduate Palm Desert High School in 2024 with honors.  I have had the opportunity to give back to my community in a variety of ways and help shape its future. As a 12 year member of the Indio Rotary Club, I believe in "Service Above Self". To that end, I have lead my Rotary Club as President, Treasurer, Secretary and Foundation Chair.  In 1996, I began coaching high school students in the Riverside County Mock Trial competition program and have been actively involved ever since.  Many of my former students, are now practicing attorneys in the Coachella Valley. Continuing my commitment to our community, I have been a Girl Scout troop leader for a troop originally based out of Sacred Heart School and have guided Scouts into leadership opportunities in high school.  My daughter and I have assisted many non-profit organizations through Coachella Valley National Charity League.  We have volunteered at Alzheimer's Association, Animal Samaritans, Children's Discovery Museum, Coachella Valley Horse Rescue, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Life Stream Blood Bank, Mama's House, Martha's Village and KitchenThe Living Desert, and YMCA of the Desert.   I have worked tirelessly to make my community a better place for all.

TUCKER'S CAREER

I have spent my entire career as a dedicated public servant and would like to continue that dedication as a Superior Court Judge. As a Superior Court Commissioner, I have been performing many of the same duties of a judge since 2018.  I have presided over very impacted courtrooms, at times handling daily calendars of over 200 cases. I am efficient, effective and have a no nonsense way of running a courtroom. Many individuals have thanked me after their hearings because I have explained the court process clearly, listened to what they wanted to say and have ruled on their cases with an unbiased view. I was an award winning Riverside County Deputy District Attorney for 23 years.  I worked to keep victims and our community safe by prosecuting serious and violent crimes, including child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assaults. I also have extensive experience in collaborative courts, which seek alternatives to traditional criminal prosecution to address mental health and substance abuse issues.  My assignments with juvenile diversion programs and student attendance review board focused on directing youth onto a more positive and productive path.

FUN FACTS

I am a marathoner who has completed the New York City and Chicago Marathons.  I love supporting my community and non-profit organizations by participating in half marathons and 5Ks.  I also enjoy backpacking and have trekked through many of our beautiful National Parks including The Grand Tetons and North Cascades.  Catalina Island is also a favorite backpacking location.  The hiking trails of Riverside County have been favorites of mine since 1995.
